CELL FACTORY

The planned cell factory with 24 GWh of installed capacity in the final expansion stage is to be built between early 2021 and late 2023 on the “Linslerfeld“, an open space with an area of approx. 840,000 m² near Überherrn. The site was choosen with regard to area size, availability, infrastructure connection and the optimised transport situation with a direct connection to the supra-regional road network. SVOLT is commissioning SHS with the construction as a turnkey project.  

After the infrastructure has been built and the necessary machine and plant technology has been set up, the state-of-the-art cell factory will gradually be industrialised. After completion of the first construction phase, the cell factory will reach a production capacity of 6 GWh. In further construction phases, SVOLT plans to gradually increase production capacity by 6 GWh in each case, depending on customer demand. 24 GWh will thus be achieved in the final expansion stage. This corresponds to batteries for 300,000 to 500,000 electric vehicles per year. Around 400 jobs will be created at the “Linslerfeld” location by the start of production at the end of 2023.
